Industrial wastewater treatment equipment – the key to achieving zero wastewater discharge

Zero discharge industrial wastewater treatment is an important goal in the field of environmental protection, through the technical means to achieve efficient treatment of wastewater and resource utilization, to reduce environmental pollution, protection of water resources is of great significance. I will introduce several major industrial wastewater treatment zero discharge technology pathways.

First of all, physical treatment technology is one of the important means to achieve zero discharge industrial wastewater treatment. Among them, membrane separation technology is an efficient and energy-saving physical treatment method. Through the use of membrane materials with different pore sizes, the harmful substances and heavy metal ions in wastewater are effectively separated to achieve the purpose of water purification. Dual-membrane filtration technology, i.e. the process of combining ultrafiltration membrane and reverse osmosis membrane, is one of the important applications of membrane separation technology. This technology can achieve multiple deep filtration of wastewater, remove harmful components, and accurately recycle wastewater so as to achieve zero discharge.

Secondly, chemical treatment technology is also an important way to achieve zero emission industrial wastewater treatment. Redox technology transforms pollutants in wastewater into non-toxic and harmless substances through chemical reactions, thus achieving deep treatment of wastewater. Advanced oxidation technologies, such as Fenton oxidation and ozone oxidation, can effectively remove the difficult-to-biodegrade organic matter in wastewater and improve the biochemistry of wastewater. In addition, chemical precipitation method, ion exchange method, etc. are also commonly used chemical treatment technologies, which can remove heavy metal ions and suspended matter in wastewater.

Biological treatment technology is an indispensable part of zero discharge industrial wastewater treatment. Biological treatment technology uses the metabolism of microorganisms to decompose and transform organic substances in wastewater. Common biological treatment technologies include activated sludge, biofilm, and anaerobic digestion. These technologies can efficiently remove organic pollutants in wastewater, reduce the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) of wastewater, and achieve harmless treatment of wastewater.
In addition to the above several technology pathways, there are some emerging technologies also play an important role in industrial wastewater treatment zero discharge. For example, evaporation crystallisation technology achieves solid-liquid separation of wastewater by evaporating the water in the wastewater so that the salts dissolved in it crystallise and precipitate out. This technology can efficiently remove salts and harmful substances from wastewater and achieve the goal of zero discharge.

In addition, resource recovery technology is also the key to achieving zero discharge in industrial wastewater treatment. By extracting and recovering the useful components in wastewater, not only can wastewater emissions be reduced, but also the recycling of resources can be achieved. For example, heavy metal ions and organic matter in wastewater can be recovered and used through specific technical means to achieve the resourceful use of wastewater.

In summary, there are various technical ways to treat industrial wastewater with zero discharge, including physical treatment technology, chemical treatment technology, biological treatment technology and resource recovery technology. The application of these technologies needs to be selected and optimised according to the nature of the wastewater and the treatment requirements, in order to achieve the goal of efficient, energy-saving and environmentally friendly wastewater treatment with zero discharge. With the continuous progress and innovation of science and technology, it is believed that in the future there will be more advanced technical means applied in the field of industrial wastewater treatment, to promote the cause of environmental protection to a higher level.
